Earlier in the year Cornwall Marine Network welcomed the now Secretary of State for Business and Trade Jonathan Reynolds and Jayne Kirkham, the new Truro and Falmouth MP along with Key business leaders for a renewable energy business roundtable
Amongst the important conversations, the panel discussed:
- Opportunities and barriers for the renewables sector and green energies
- The importance of a locally developed and supported supply chain.
- The huge economic benefits of landing a green energy grid connection into Cornwall from Geothermal, Celtic FLOW.
- Support for SME’s, innovation, training and skills
- Further consistent support for apprenticeships also featured heavily in the discussions
The Business Minister was left in no doubt of the huge opportunities we have in Cornwall and how they can help to seize the economic opportunities in their industrial strategy to create skilled, well-paid jobs in the industries of the future in every part of the UK.
Congratulations to you both, and we look forward to working with you to realise the huge potential and opportunities Cornwall has to offer in both the marine and renewables sectors.
